A lot of guys scoffed at me for spending $$ on VentureShield protective film, but it has already saved me two trips to the body shop. Too bad we can't avoid idiots in parking lots, but...Some jacka$$ backed into my front bumper while I was parked and left some scuff marks on the clear coat.
Local detail shop buffed it right out in 2min for $40.

I want to go postal! I walked out of the hospital where I work on Sunday morning and some a__hole had keyed my two week old Genesis! It looks like the marks are all the way down to the metal. These are more than minor scratches. Any ideas? All help will be greatly appreciated. I signed on for all of the extended warranties and insurance coverages, but I do not think that Hyundai has coverage for the finish of the car like I had with my Mercedes previously. I will check though...I was contemplating reporting a claim to my insurance company but I have a $500 deductible for comp!

If you have a deep gouge all the way across your car you might have more damage than just $500 bucks. It also depends on what color car you have. I had a dent on my right front fender that needed to be banged out as well as painted. They had to paint my fender and front door to get the right blend...
You might need more than just your scratch to be painted. I'm not a mechanic by any means and have no real knowledge of paint automobiles but I suspect you will spend more than $500 if it is really bad.
