  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When starting my 2019 G70, the dash screen briefly shows something like "...-80 days service..." The car is 4 years old, has synthetic oil and filter change every year and only 14K miles. I take great care of the car and as far as I can tell, there is nothing wrong with the car. So, what's with this service alert, and can it be shut off? Thanks.

There's a programmable service reminder on your car that you can set or x number of days and y number of miles to remind you that it needs a service, such as an oil change. It is reading negative because the interval expired 80 days ago. Tomorrow it will say -81 days.
If nothing is due, then either it wasn't reset the last time or even more likely it is programmed for a different interval than you are going by.
Your owner's manual details how to set the interval and how to reset the warning. You likely have a way to turn it off altogether, I believe mine does, but it's been a long time since I've done anything with it other than reset it each time I change the oil.

My GV80, at times, showed numbers in the negative hundreds of days even with constant resetting. You can turn off the service notifications in the settings. The algorithm they use hasn't been right for the 3 years I've had the car.

Thanks, that did the trick.
