  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My 2013 Hyndai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec ( 107k miles ) started playing up. I don't know if this is relevant but for the last 8 months it had only done biweekly short trips of 3 miles to the grocers and 3 miles back.

A couple of weeks ago I got to the grocers and it almost conked out. After getitng the groceries ( 40 minutes) it started up fine and nearly got me home but I had to stop and wait ( I believe for fuel to get through with the engine not running ) before driving the last mile running on 6 or 7 cylinders.

I ordered a new fuel pump filter which took 2 weeks to get. I replaced the filter but also found that by now the battery was dead. I replaced the battery ( after recharging it and finding it still to be faulty ). The car starts but runs like it's on 6 or 7 cylinders still. The fault codes showed low presssure in the fuel rail form the initial incindent. On clearing these I now only get misfire on cyl 8 and then misfire on cyl 7. I believe these are the 2 cylinders nearest the firewall.

I suspect that there is air in the high pressure fuel system. So my question is, how do I check this and bleed the system? Any other thoughts would be appreciated too.
