I decided to fix the two main annoyances with my 2023 GV70: the requirement for wired Android Auto and the lack of integrated high-speed charging without ugly dongles cluttering the console.
I wanted a factory-clean look with functionality that matches the premium interior. I engineered a solution that routes the data connection behind the dash for a hidden wireless dongle and replaces the visible port with a high-power charger.
The Build:

Since I've already done the engineering, testing, and fitment work, I can produce these for others.

I wanted a factory-clean look with functionality that matches the premium interior. I engineered a solution that routes the data connection behind the dash for a hidden wireless dongle and replaces the visible port with a high-power charger.
The Build:
- Design: Modeled a replacement housing in CAD to match the OEM clips and curvature perfectly.
- Fabrication: Iterated through several SLA resin prototypes to ensure durability and correct light diffusion (the blue ring matches the OEM ambient lighting).
- Power: Integrated a USB-C PD charging board. While rated for 65W, it delivers a consistent **30W fast charge** on the car's 12V rail.
The Result:
- Wireless AA: An AAWireless dongle is tucked behind the dash, connected to the data lines. Phone connects automatically upon entry.
- Clean Console: No visible wires. The port is now strictly for power.
Availability:
Since I've already done the engineering, testing, and fitment work, I can produce these for others.
- Price: $70 per unit.
- Install: These are solidly engineered pop-in replacements. Installation from behind requires removal of 5 bolts, 2 pieces of trim and a few connectors.
