  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Looking at genesis 2016 and wanting to put mods to the engine or performance mods and looking for shit that broke the car and the stuff I should actually buy

If you wish to modify the engine of any vehicle, the readers must know what engine you have. Your sedan could have a V-8 or a GDI V-6. If you have a coupe, 2016 models use the 3.8 V-6.
It could be that you have a P.E. license and a Ph.D in automotive engineering, so changing the design of this engine might be a good idea. I don't have any such credentials, so I don't know the answer to your inquiry. Would you care to add more details to your question?

I guess you could change the exhaust to make it sound better. But, a naturally aspirated engine will probably yield scant improvement in performance. Have you thought about selling your 2016 and upgrading to something with turbocharging?

Agreed.

Most N/A engines do not gain much power without some major internal modifications like performance camshafts and increasing engine displacement. Most N/A engines are as good they are going to get from the factory with some wiggle room to uncap some hidden restricted power caused by the stock intake system, stock ecu tuning and stock exhaust with some simple mods like performance air filters, ecu tuning and a free-flowing exhaust systems. However, the gains will be very mild at best. Stock version of the air intake, ecu programming, and exhaust is focused more on noise reduction, reliability and fuel economy. Aftermarket modifications is usually a tradeoff of the three for a small gain in power if done properly.

Like mentioned above; if you want some real power gains for a simple aftermarket product buy a force inducted engine and tune it for more boost over the stock setting. However, even that can have its negative points too if long term reliability is an issue.

That's why I always get the largest engine available....
