  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Our 2023 GV60 has had the headlights replaced under warranty once and now the headlights have so much moisture on the inside of the lens that you can't even see the led bulbs inside. Took the car in for it's last covered service visit and the service manager says that the condition is normal and Genesis won't cover the cost of replacement anymore because they replaced way too many....wtf? I filed a claim with Genesis and I filed a claim with NHTSA.
Anyone else having issue with the headlight and moisture? I believe this film of moisture distorts the light beams and is a safety issue and not to mention it is rather unsightly.

I haven't had the problem, but can't fathom that it's "normal" (assuming that you haven't been blasting it with a pressure washer, etc.) Can you post some pics?

I'll post some picks tomorrow, we're picking it up from service tomorrow.

You mean like this ?
I was told, it’s normal for there to be occasional moisture & as long as it disappears in a day or two, that’s fine. There is a filter on the back of the assembly that may need replacing if the lenses don’t clear & failing that, the assembly may need replacing. Apparently they need to breathe or they could split.

Very much like that, but the droplets are getting larger and they don't dissapate, even when we park it pointed at the hot summer sun.
Have you asked to have them replaced/repaired?

I wouldnt consider that normal. It certainly will diffuse the light beam a lot.
Perhaps the heat from the LEDs when they are on make the moisture evaporate.

No replacement, the moisture had disappeared by the next day. Service just said, if it doesn’t disappear or the droplets are collecting, the first thing they do is change the filter at the back, if the water continues, then they will look at a replacement. I’ve only noticed it the once so I can only assume, for the moment, what he said was true. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It's been worse before. Never fully clears up

Well, I called Genesis a couple days ago, since then I've gotten 2 calls from people that can barely speak English, each time they want to review my ID info, the cars ID info and rattle on how they are going to "work" with me.
Each time I expressed my displeasure of going through all this nonsense for a simple warranty item. I explained the possible safety issues and are reluctance to drive the car at night. I'm at wits end with these idiots!

If you don't have it already, check out Genesis' own Technical Services Bulletin 23-BD-002G (5 pages) for ALL Genesis model vehicles.
Yours sure looks like a Water Leak to me. If so, the Flowchart shows they should be REPLACED under warranty if there was no external influence. Hopefully those 2 calls you received are the beginning of that process.

Just had one replaced under warranty gv70. Had to be put to a test having the headlight on for 1 hour. No evaporation. Service rep said we are ordering a new headlight under warranty. He told me it is normal to have some moisture since the headlamp is vented due to the head the lamps create. But after the test the moisture did not dissipate.

I had case reported in March, headlight was to be replaced, but it was on backorder. Then they said they have TSB. They have done it and it didn’t help at all, same issue. Now Genesis says that they won’t replace as in their words - “moisture buildup is considered acceptable”, they denied replacement claim.
Now I have to call Genesis customer service and argue with them to replace clearly failed part, under warranty.
To say I’m disappointed with the brand is understatement….

Is that a Genesis / Hyundai dealership. Or stand alone Genesis dealer? Moisture is acceptable but when you have large droplets on the lenses for day that is not. Take pictures with dates for 4 or 5 days. Then send to Genesis Corp.. and have them set up an appointment with your dealership.. you don’t setup the date let Corp. Genesis do it..

I've gone round and round with customer service phone drones. They want me to fill out all sorts of info I'm sure they already know, like where, when, and how I bought it. Crappy treatment.

Sorry to hear your poor treatment.. Lexus customer service ..not close…

Since its inception Lexus always took the high road approach distancing itself from Toyota and provided great with customer service. Heck, even Acura has much better service than Genesis.
In my opinion Genesis service at the dealership and corporate suck big time and are the worst part of my experience with the brand.
