  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

2015 Genesis sedan 3.8 Tech AWD. The transmission was acting up last fall. When in stop/go driving, the 1-2 upshift was delayed and when it did shift, I got a strong kick like I was rear ended. 51K miles. I brought it to the selling dealer who said it needs a new transmission. They can't be repaired. I'm covered under the 10/100 major powertrain warranty thank goodness. They also plan on replacing the driveshaft parts (also covered under 10/100) to address the low speed 25/30 mph shimmy when the car is cold. Head unit replaced and starter replaced within the last 18 months. I won't count the CEL sensor and new tires every 20K. As much as I enjoy driving this car, it reminds me of my old Audis...not reliable and lots of ongoing maintenance. But again, thank goodness for the strong warranty 5/60 then 10/100...something my Audis did not have. Side note, the dealer has been great and provided me with a complimentary/ new Santa Fe loaner.

Does your car still run fine after these hard gear shifts? My 2015 3.8 RWD sedan, has been doing the same for about 10 k miles. It currently has 91k, I have felt that being rear ended feeling several times, I did bring it up to the dealer once and all they did was reset the transmission sensors. I figured it was something with the tranny.

With the new tranny installed, it shifts perfectly now. Dealer said tranny fluid was black indicating a problem but they hooked it up to a computer to confirm. The bill says per TSB #19AT014H (delayed shifts outside of Hyundai specs). Good luck.

My 2015 is in shop now with same transmission issues, actually just received a call that Hyundai approved the warranty claim. Missing my car but can't complain with the Santa Fe loaner

Is the 25/30mph vibration fixed after you had the work done? I have had 2 driveshaft replacements by 2 different dealers and now it is worse than ever not to mention the other 50 things the car has been in the shop for. My beat down Plymouth Horizon I got when I turned 16 was way more reliable than this POS. So frustrated with this vehicle.

Hey, what other problems do you have with your Genny?
