  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys and dolls,

Well, I have a sandisk 16gb flash drive that I loaded songs and movies to in order to play them in my car (4.6 with Tech).

Well, the songs play fine (after a little reformatting of the flash drive) but the movies don't even show up as a selection. This leads me to believe that I can't play movies from my flash drive.

So, I guess the question is, can I play movies from my flash drive? Do I have to reformat the flash drive...the movies? The movies are currently in .avi format.

I appreciate the help guys.

Only thing I can find on compatible formats for the Lexicon System is from their website:

Format Compatibility:

To further enhance your listening experience, the Lexicon system is compatible with a wide variety of media, including CD, DVD-Audio, DVD-Video, MP3, Video CD and compatible formats, including PCM, Dolby® Digital, and DTS®

I will load up The IT Crowd onto one of my Thumb Drives in a couple different formats and see what happens.....TBC.

No luck with .avi, .wmv, .mp4, not sure what other formats to try...I think these are the main types beyond Quicktime. Sorry wasn't of more help on this subject, will keep looking !! :)

Hey thanks! I have to re-format my music again anyway.

Quick question for everyone...does your folders on the USB setting always start from the top when you back out of a folder/album? It's quite annoying always having to scroll through the folders to find the albums I want.

I agree. It is quite annoying.... (I have not found a way other than that with the "knobbus kabbobus" thing on the console)...
