  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I always put these OEM kits on my cars as it protects the lower body panels from rock/debris paint damage very well and does add a nice finishing touch. They are available on eBay delivered for much less than the dealer or at least my dealer. Should have negotiated this into the purchase price but forgot. On my Gen 1 they were a breeze to install, just remove some existing screws and replace with new screws. http://www.ebay.com/itm/191312152989

Thanks Midnight. Those are sold out already, but I immediately found these in "New Condition" on the same page for $49.95. 14 available, 6 sold. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-2015-Hyundai-Genesis-4dr-Sedan-Front-Rear-Splash-Guards-Mud-Guards Hope the link works; Ebay is not liking me this morning, but a simple search will yield results.

I'm on the fence on this one. It's a good price, and maybe that alone will push me over the edge, but frankly, I never felt like I was getting any real benefit from the mud guards on my Elantra or my Azera. Then again, I didn't have any rock chips in the wheel wells, so maybe I was just taking them for granted.

Mud flaps are for dump trucks. I have never used them and have not had issues with rock or mud damage. Application of a good polymer sealant will help keep the car protected against most minor issues without ruining the look of the car for something which provides little or no benefit except an add-on profit maker for a dealer.

Agreed!

So polymer sealant will protect your rocker guards from small flying stones, yeah right.

In northern climates they use small gravel on the roads to help with traction during the winter months. This stuff is on the roads for the better part of 4 months of the year and to be honest with you I really like the look of them.

Our tastes evidently differ on many add-ons, as do the environment we live in.

That is one of the things about this forum I enjoy the most. Everybody can have their say. There is no right or wrong. Just opinions.

+1

Had them installed at the dealer when I got my car. They are subtle enough to get the job done.

Agreed, a far fetch from "flaps" of the past. Lookin good. ;)

Thanks! I do understand what was said about those "trucker mud flaps". Those or the rally style flaps are a no go on these beautiful cars!

Agreed - I think mine look really nice. In most pics you can't see them at all, they just disappear into the shadows.

I negotiated mine into the purchase. They are being installed tomorrow at the first oil change appointment.

For those who are interested I bought mine online at http://www.ricartparts.com/. You can use "Search by part number" function on their website. Part numbers are as follows:
B1F46-AC000 (front)
B1F46-AC100 (rear)

They were few bucks cheaper than eBay. I paid $40.51 (with coupon CHEAPER). This does not include shipping but shipping is extra on eBay item listed above as well. Installation was quite easy.

Nicely done.

I had been debating about color for when I pick up my 2nd Gen next year, and so far, I must confess Cassablanca White is probably going to be my choice. That looks pretty darned good.

This car really looks good in white.

I just took delivery of my new ride in White and it does look great. In certain light it almost has an ice-blue tint to the colour. I'm definitely getting the mud-guards front & rear. First trip in showery weather left muddy spots right behind wheelarches and on lower part of doors.

I finally broke down and ordered a pair from ebay. Came last night, and I will install after work today. Got my 35% legal tint yesterday as well. I got the Millennium Falcon front window tint.
