  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Car was pretty clean before driving home from work. Roads were a little wet but it stopped raining before hitting the road. When I got home, the side and rear of my car were completely filthy. Upon closer inspection, the front wheels stick out a little compared to the side which is really throwing the dirt back along the side of the car. Figured I should get the mud guards installed before driving much more.

Has anyone noticed a considerable difference with and without the mud guards?

Has anyone figured out how to keep the rear end from getting extremely dirty so quickly? Like I mentioned, there was no rain, just wet roads and after 15 minutes of freeway driving, the entire back end of my white Gen was nearly black from all the dirt. Not sure how since I wasn't in traffic and only passed a few cars.

Ironically, I just ordered the mudguards for mine 2 days ago. Hoping to get them installed this week.

Only had the car 6 days, and it hasnt been rainy here yet so I cant contribute too much yet

I had the mud guards installed from the dealer when I took possession. I also have the Casablanca White. Still have the back end getting black with dirt...

I did not have mud guards on my 2015 and never felt I had a problem with dirt down low on the sides, but I have mud guards on my 2016 - so I'll see if it seems to stay any cleaner?

The mud guards make a difference on the rear quarter panel and on the body panels behind the front wheel-well, but do absolutely nothing for the rear bumper. Our cars are just a dirt magnet back there. I carry a quick detailer spray in the trunk but usually the whole tail end is dirty. I've gotten to the point where I try take my wife's car in the rain :-).

Much as I am an advocate of mud guards I have to admit the ones on my Genesis look good I guess that was a prime consideration when designing them but they do little to actually protect behind the wheels. It’s not an isolated incident as my Sonata is the same looks good but doesn’t do much. Both are OEM mud guards. I’ve found in many instances that non OEM mud guards though not as esthetically pleasing are actually more functional. But in most our cases it’s beauty before function.

I had installed the mud guards to avoid these kind of mess...but it was in vain.
My guess is G2 makes more vortex of air flow at the rear than other car so all the dirt stick in the rear bumper and lid.

I just want to know if the real spoiler solve these problems.

I wasn't really a fan of mud flaps, but aftermarket wheels with lower offset are sticking out a little and leave more dirt on the rockers and bumper corners.

Looks good but they don't work.... $60 down the drain.
Most dirt caused by passing trucks...no way to stop that
