  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello!
I purchased a 2009 4.6L but wanted a deeper, slightly more aggressive exhaust tone. My research here, across the web and speaking with Dynomax lead to me to purchase the 17731 Super Turbo mufflers (2) to replace the stock ones. I was told they would provide a slightly more aggressive sound whilst maintaining the "class" given by our vehicles.

Went to the muffler shop to get them put on and they want over $300 to replace them, which sounded incredibly overpriced to me. I've had exhausts modified and replaced before, it never cost anywhere near that much to put it on. Is that a fair price, given our vehicles?

The same exhaust guy said it would be better to replace the X pipe with a 2 in, 2 out muffler and do straight pipes all the way out - sounded suspicious to me. For reference, I live in Fairborn Ohio and this was Muffler Brothers in Beavercreek.

Thoughts??

Does this price include installing new exhaust tips too?? My 1st exhaust mod cost around $130-$150 IIRC to install new exhaust tips and replace OEM mufflers with MagnaFlow mufflers. I have since had new exhaust tips installed and the OEM H pipe muffler replaced with a MagnaFlow X Pipe muffler to further reduce drone.

I have threads on this....

Thanks for the quick reply. No it did not include anything with the tips - that would have been extra. Like I said, it sounded completely ridiculous to me, so I said no. I guess I can take it to other shops in the area, just wanted to see what other people thought and how much they had paid to get theirs done.
