  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Multifunction Switch (TSS/Wiper) now 15 year Unlimited Mile Warranty

I just don't use the DRL/Auto setting... Replacing the bulbs for the 5.0 is a pain in the ass.
I didn't think it was that bad. Not that I go out to the garage and do it just for fun when I'm bored. My wife and I both have 5.0's so I keep a couple of packs of bulbs in the toolbox.

Hyundai should also extend the warranty on the 3rd brake light assembly. My rubber moulding just crumbled and sagged, conveniently shortly after the 5/60 warranty expired.
Same happened on my wife's. Her trunk handle disintegrated recently as well (the way too thin rubber gasket around it).

What about the right side?

What about the right side?
About 3 weeks ago my driver side bulb went out. The next day my wife texted me and said her passenger one went out. I don't recall any real difference in them (an airbox on either side in the 5.0's) other than hers being hard to get back in the assemble due to the bulb just not wanting to snap all the way in.

I did have a friend to help hold the airbox out of the way while I put the bulbs in, which I'm sure makes a difference so it doesn't have to be removed. Maybe it could be propped up somehow...

It's bad enough when you have to deal with it at ~100 degrees & 80% humidity. Houston's a swamp covered in concrete!

Off topic of this thread, but mentioned many times. Anybody have a link to the posts about wiring harness issues and right side front turn signal? I have to replace mine about 3 times a year. Mentioned it to dealer a few times but nobody takes it seriously and no 'apparent' issues found.

I'm in MS. Totally know about heat and life draining humidity. And I agree it's zero fun dealing with.

Just got my letter last week. I love this car but all this plastic breaking down is annoying. Just fixed the back panel of the drivers seat after it just fell off. Replaced the oil dip stick ($28 on Ebay) Hyundai wanted $55 as well last month. Again more plastic holding together a part(seat) that is used daily. At least now they are covering this switch for 15 yrs.

I guess Hyundai Canada would be the only other option...if the USA site is giving a 15 year warranty then someone must be aware you'd hope...

Seems like I got the notice just in time.... Just noticed that my wipers don't cycle when I pull back for the mist/clean function. I have to manually clear the windshield by moving it past "auto".

If anyone gets info from either their dealership or Hyundai Canada, please share. I have had the intermittant flickering issue from time to time but never long enough to make it worth my while to take it into the dealership for repair. Thanks

Likewise

I will always love my 2015 Genesis. However, for a guy my age that has a hard time working on cars, too much went wrong, especially electrically. That's why regrettably, I sold mine.

I bought a new light and installed it myself. $129. the car is still the best sedan ever.
LOL. I will do the same thing. I purchased a new OEM light/wiper switch unit off Ebay that shipped from Korea for about the same price plus shipping. The job is fairly easy. Remove the airbag, pull off the steering wheel, and install the switch unit. My current light switch is messing up every so often and the chrome is peeling off the knobs.

I probably could have just waited in line for a Hyundai service appt to have it done under the recall, but I really have not spent much money on this car for repairs; so $129 is not that bad to know that the job is done right being as simple that it is.

However, I will submit an reimbursement request to Hyundai for the repair cost.
