  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I went to start my car yesterday morning and discovered multiple electronic issues.

- The proximity mirrors did not fold out
- The doors did not unlock using the button on the door handle
- Neither key was recognized by the car
- The car won't start
- The driver window went down but wouldn't go back up

I called AAA and they tried to jump the battery, but it sparked a ton when they connected the negative terminal. They recommended towing it to the dealer, but I can't put the car in neutral or take off the E Brake to get the car out of the garage and onto a flat bed. Is there a way to override the E Brake and put the car in neutral? Could all of this be caused by a low battery? I can try to replace the battery myself this weekend, but otherwise I'm stuck until they can find someone with 4 sets of wheel dollies to roll the car out of the garage.

Yes, it could all be the battery.
Don't worry about it being in park with the parking brake on. The tow truck can handle that. It's not uncommon, they tow cars that are locked. They have wheel dollies that they can use and other options.

From talking to the tow truck driver they need to coordinate and find someone that has 4 sets of wheel dollies, since he only had 2. I'm looking for options before Monday since I need to go to work, so if replacing the battery could solve this I'd like to give that a try.
