  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My recently acquired 2012 4.6l has the Lexicon radio and it seems to have a million options -but I don't see a simple "mute" button: is there one- or a way to quickly do it?

Hi, congrats on your new ride..
My ex VW had an easy to use Mute button..B U T nothing on my Genesis..
Incoming calls (BT) will override the radio/Nav if you have it..
I found it easy to turn the radio volume control (anti clockwise) to nearly zero with just a roll of my finger..
:)

There is a power off by pressing the volume in or holding mode on the steering wheel for a few seconds. Since the nav and radio are separate, there is no mute

If you are listening to music via USB and your screen is showing your music list, you can simply press down on the DIS knob and music won't mute, but will pause. Hit again to unpause...........This is my half assed sorta helpful answer to someone......maybe...

Press the steering wheel Volume Button twice, this will mute radio etc.

Echo the reply 2 above - when playing a song on DVD on way home from airport tonight I pushed in the DIS button - paused it.

The steering wheel button Push""
did not work for me.. No worries..

On my 2012 5.0, pushing the "phone handset" button mutes the mic while on the call. Hiding it down for longer time hands it up. FYI

What does: "Hiding it down for longer time hands it up" mean?

I think he meant holding it down longer hangs it up. That's what it does on my Genny.

Yes, but then it defaults to the nav screen and stays there when you use "MODE" to turn the radio back on.

Yeah, I miss the dedicated mute button from the 2000 Buick I traded in on my 2012 4.6. I loved that mute button, because it preserves the exact volume as before.

On my 2012 I simply press down on the DIS knob to mute, and again to play.

For a CD, Jukebox, or streaming Bluetooth it pauses, not mutes. For XM or FM, no.
