  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've been on this Forum since I bougth the 4.6 in September. This forum is very easy to use (search, post etc) and I haven't noticed any down time or glitches. The only negative is the limit on images downloaded from your hard drive.

Anyhow, a tip of my cap to the site and its moderators.

I agree. Great forum. Although one thing that bothers me is the number of active members on here. There is not a large amount of people on here (especially the gen sedan section) supporting and helping others unlike other car forums. There are rarely any new threads and sometimes it takes a while to get an answer from other members.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I agree with both remarks. This is a good forum, but could be even better. A smartphone app would do a lot to drive participation and loyalty which would drive traffic to the full site. As Hyundai continues to prosper, genesisowners.com would grow and the body of information would improve and, and, and . . . These things are like banana displays in the grocery store -- when the display is half full, people walk by.

I've heard that an app named "Tapatalk" works well on forums based on vBulletin.

I feel this way too but it's because other car forums because not that many people drive the Genesis. It's still kinda new unlike other brands and models that have been out longer. It'll continue to grow though. Just hang in there. :)

I agree with maxmar. This site doesn't have enough users, but that's probably because there aren't that many Genesis owners. One of the things I find lacking in this website, is there are hardly any good information stickies. Like I have been on other car forums and they have really good stickies giving both the bad and the good topics about their car. And there are very few DIY here as well. I think one of the reasons its not a popular car yet, is the fact its still a Hyundai. They need to open a whole new brand possibly called the Genesis like Lexus and Toyota. Everyone who sees my car usually says wow I can't believe that's a Hyundai.

Setting up a separate brand/dealer network would force them to charge a lot more for the car, eliminating the Genesis' huge price advantage in the marketplace. If I live long enough to buy another Genesis I'd rather purchase at the Hyundai price than at some Genesis/Equus price.

Exactly! Besides, I believe Hyundai's intent for the Genesis (and Equus) wasn't necessarily to compete with the BMW's and MB's of the world... but to raise the overall luxury and appeal of their entire brand lineup!

One thing people fail to realize is that over in Europe (and other markets), MB, for example, has vehicles that range as follows:

Would you buy the first one? I wouldn't. It looks cheap. But Mercedes is a classy brand, ain't it?

;)

As for the OP comment... agreed, I come on this site every single day, and learn something new almost as regularly. Thanks all!

Tapatalk, enough said. I use it and actually prefer it for reading posts to the web version. Posting is admittedly more difficult. It costs $2 I think, but is well worth it.

I would say this site was 80-85% responsible for my choice in purchasing a Genesis. I appreciate the all the knowledge and help without the drama I usually see in one of my motorcycle forums. Let's keep up the good work.

Thank you for the kind words and the CONSTRUCTIVE criticism! This is one thing I REALLY love about his community - the people here let me know when something can be better - but state so in a very elegant manner...

For those looking to browse via smart phone/ipad type device, have you tried TapaTalk? I know, it DOES cost $1.99 (I believe) but those funds don't come to me - but to the application author. I COULD have a "Genesis Owners" specific application developed - but it'll cost me around $1000.00 - though it would be free to download as I would not accept payments for it.

The thing is - I "think" the TapaTalk app is excellent for what it is. And the one I can have developed wouldn't really be any better - BUT - it would be it's "own app" in the phone markets...

Stickies... If anyone would like to PM me with a discussion threads that should be stuck, I'd be glad to take care of that.

In regards to members - I do agree we need more... Maybe we can discuss ideas on how to promote the site better. I'm trying. I recently purchased a "bench ad" right in front of a brand new Hyundai dealership being built in my area. That ad should go live on February first. I'll take a picture and post it up when it's ready...

Thanks again!
