  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just completed a 2200 miles trip, this car is a lot of fun and comfort, driving 27 hrs from Atl to NY to Atl, 4.3 tank of gas, the smart cruise and LKA was a winning combination. I have done this trip previously with a 2012 BMW 535i, and I must say the G2 was a smoother ride. The HUD and my recent sub amp addition was a big plus to make this so much fun. I am really enjoying this car.

G2 is a great highway cruiser, especially with the SCC. Glad you like your ride!

What mileage did you get on that trip. I am averaging just under 18MPG in general, all around driving on my 3.8 AWD. Kind of a gas guzzler for sure.

I have the 3.8 RWD, my avg mileage Atl to NY was 26.4 MPG, NY to ATL was 28.3 MPG, the best Ive got was 31.2 on a 82 miles highway trip with no traffic

thats pretty low, i have 2015 3.8 awd and did phoenix to LA 400 miles trip and got 32mpg in summer with AC on. my commute is 110 miles round trip to work and home and I average 27mpg about 80% highway.

What speed were you driving to get 32? I never got close, but the 27 can be done.

Around town, 18 is not so bad for a big heavy car. Short trips and cold weather are a killer though. That 1 or 2 mile jaunt to the store on a cold day will be 10 to 12.

I was foing 75 with cruise control and my daily 110 mile commute i average at around 50 mph

I call shenanigens, I only avg 24.5 and 25.5 on long trips.

I think gasoline varies from region to region in terms of energy and ethanol content. After many long interstate trips from FL to NY starting with a full tank of gas, my FL gas almost always yields a few less miles per gallon than gas from SC or GA.

Just get a 5.0 and quit thinking about any sort of awesome mileage figures

I have a 5.0 and can regular get 25mpg on the freeway. 27-28 if I just try a little and have recorded 31 but no idea why or how. It amazes me. Around town or stop and go is a different story.

I concur. The AWD sucks up that gasoline. I think I averaged 25-26 MPG on a mostly highway 1k mile drive to Maine from NYC this summer
That is what I typically get on a long highway trip. Around town, I don't even look any more. I just consider it the price of driving a nice car.

With gas at $1.86 I don't worry as much about MPG like when it was say close to $3.00+ per gallon

What kind of sub an amp did you install

Same question :)

I added a Kicker 43CXA300.1 300W Class D Mono Amplifier, to the OEM subwoofer, and the bass is kicking now, before the amp had to my Treble 0, Mid -8 & Bass +10 to hear some bass, now with the amp, my Treble +4 Mid 0 & Bass -4, and it sound 200% better.

$1.86? Not around these parts...which is why I tend to monitor my MPG on my 5.0. Usually around 18mpg around town, 23-28 hwy.
