  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The only things I've done to my Genesis, so far, is to add the Mud Guards, front and rear, Wheel Locks, and to add the rear Lip Spoiler.

Last week, I ordered two additional accessories.

1. From my dealer, Orlando Hyundai, I ordered the "Genesis" Wing Trunk Emblem (plus a paint stick). Great parts man, Richard, phoned me this morning and said that the parts are here. I will drive there tomorrow morning to pick up. Don't know yet when I will have time to remove the "Flying H" from the trunk lid and install the ordered emblem.

2. After three months of searching for a "Dash Mat" or other Dash Cover, I found them at www.mrdashmat.com so I ordered one in dark brown. Just got word that it has been shipped, and will arrive via UPS on monday, the 4th.
Living mostly in Florida, we have to have a dash cover to protect the dash from the sun. I'll report on the quality and if the order was correct once it arrives. When I gave the order, I told the girl that this car has the Tech Package and she understood that the dash is different (with the speakers on the top of the dash) than those without the top speakers. The photo on the site shows the mat on a Genesis without the speaker cut-out.

Will report after it arrives.

Does the dash mat/cover attach to the dash? If so, what does it use Velcro?

And wouldn't it cover the center channel speaker?

Dash Covers that I've had on all my past cars, including the one on my Continental attach with velcro.

I'll find out monday if it covers the center speaker. (It should not).

What's the point of a dash mat? Due to improvements in materials I haven't seen a cracked dash on any vehicle built in the last 15-20 years.

I have to agree with you on this. It reminds me of a 1993 rusty beretta with the leather bra (bad!) and a dash mat.

I hope I don't offend anyone, but it just reminds me of some old shitty car in a trailer park with a dash mat. It doesn't belong on this car nor on any car.

A lot of Dash problems with Chrysler products (mostly Dodge trucks) here in Florida these past few years. Some were so bad, that the whole dash would not only crack, but would fall apart. Local TV station showed a lot of them like this. Matter of fact, I know one guy who got his Dodge Ram dash replaced by Chrysler when his fell apart.

I've used Dash Mats even back when I lived 100% up north, and I've been using them in every car I've had since I moved (mostly) to Florida 14 years ago.
