  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Okay, this may be my only post here, but here goes: I'm an old fart, born in the 50's, but I'm not a "Muscle Cars Only" kinda' guy. My first new car was a 5-speed Toyota Corolla that was perfectly-stock, but I had fun racing Porsche 914s around freeway off-ramps back in the day. I ride a Ducati motorcycle, and I love most forms of racing: speedway, SuperBike, sprint cars, super-modifieds, etc., so I'm a little more circumspect than a typical "NASCAR-only" fan. Anyway, last night on the 91 freeway here in So.Cal., I saw THE raddest car I've seen in quite awhile: a brand-new black Hyundai Genesis coupe; BUT, the owner, an Asian-American guy in his 20's, had it quite tricked-out. Fat tires and wide ORANGE wheels and accents. Made me forget all about Camaros and Challengers and 'stangs. Heck, it looked better than a 'vette! So, I beg the question: why doesn't Hydunai, USA offer a model just like this, with a variety of paint trim options? They say buying a vehicle is as much an emotional purchase as it is a transportational one. I'm thinking if Hyundai offered their little Korean hot rod in such a graphic format, they'd sell like 2-buck chuck at Trader Joe's!

Hey where do you get that “Old Fart” stuff being born in the fifties?
I was born in the forties and don’t consider myself as being “old”.
Age is a state of mind, granted something don’t work as well or fast as they use to, but when it comes to cars the thrill continues.
I remember the ground shaking, fire breathing production cars of the fifties and sixties. I was fortunate to experience them, own some of them and drive them.
In the seventies when the government required emission controls I thought the age of great cars was over. I felt sad for the future generations who would never experience to power and performance of cars like I had.
Well I am glad to say I was wrong! The Hyundai engineers have put together quality performance cars that the company is willing to stand behind.
Buy one and gussie it up the way you like and enjoy!

No disrespect, but being on the wrong side of 50, well, we've kinda' dropped off society's radar...except when it comes to medical and health insurance ads. Of course, my attitude is, "Your only as old as who you're allowed to feel", and for 3 years, until Valentines' Day, I was seriously-dating a woman 25 years my junior (and she drove a Subarbu!). My point was, I was just trying to show that not every car guy is in one camp (tuner cars) or the
other (American muscle). I'd love to see Hyundai build a V8, then they could go NASCAR racing. And remember, it doesn't have to be street-legal: can't buy a Camry with rear-drive, a manual tranny, and a V8. Somebody needs to spank the Bow-Tie Brigade.

not going to happen Hyundai is running out of AIR

Chevy use to be a great American car. I say use to, because what they are producing now is junk.
From cutting edge engineering GM (now government motors) have gone to how cheap we can produce this car for, and how much can we charge for it.. All you have to look at is their warranty to know what GM thinks of the quality of what they are producing.
Hyundai is going to produce a 485hp V8 that will run on regular 87 octane gas with Rear wheel drive.
If you have never driven a Hyundai powered by their 429hp V8 do yourself a favor and drive one then you will become a believer.
Hey as far as dating a woman 25 years your junior you know what they say, “If it has tires or t*ts soon or later it will be trouble”. I’ll stick with the tires because they are easier to replace and cost a lot less in the long run. :D

I'll have to jump into this one, I have had mustangs, corvettes, porsche, VW's and family cars over the last 40 years and I am enjoying my 3.8 R Spec as much if not more, it handles well especially when I turn off the traction and stability controls, It shifts fine, has good HP, good torque and XM radio etc. My last Hyundai was a Santa Fe the older body style and I never had a problem. Hyundai could race australian supercars, Nascar is all the same, crap with restrictor plates, not like is was in Dale's day, Long live the sixties mucsle cars;):D
