  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Everyone knows that I am a VERY loyal Genesis owner I feel strongly that I'll even be moving into the Equus when it comes out.

BUT--- I feel that I'll be adding this one to my 'stable'...

The Tesla Sedan

I'm in process of building a new office building that will be LEEDS certified (green). We'll have electric car charging stations in the best parking spots. I can see this parked there! Now- if it had a GENESIS name on it... it would be totally complete!

I like it. The only thing I oppose to is the external placement of the sun/moonroof when opened. Otherwise it is a winner. I'll be keeping an eye on you!

Wow - didn't know they had a production car (under the $103K range - Tesla Roadster) already in production.:)

They're expected to be delivered to the consumer market late 11/12, if the world makes it that long :)

Take the time to look down at the specs and it will continue to blow your mind.

In all of the Hyundai surveys about hybrids, I have tried to make the strong point that my car of choice is 100% battery. MAYBE there is a small 'emergency' generator on board that gives you enough juice to get to a plug.

I was fascinated with the Tesla CEO's interview with Dave Letterman (just before they rolled the car out into the studio). Dave was 'ragging' on GM for spending multi-millions on an electric car and after years, getting the Volt that only does 40mi. on a charge. Tesla guy spends his pocket money (and a few investors) and rolls out a roadster that does 244mi out of the gate for $103k (he's sold 1300 of them) and then shortly after for his second act creates THIS car at 300mi and for $50k.

They also got talking carbon footprint (operational footprint). I THINK I have this about right.... If you charge the Tesla every day for a week at your home that is supplied with totally coal fired electricity, your carbon footprint is less than a Toyota Prius running for 1 day ( I think that's about right)!

I'm hoping Hyundai is watching all of this and is secretly working on their Genesis answer:)

Phil, that is an amazingly beautiful car.

I honestly can't wait until all cars are electric like this one, and we gearheads can feel passionate about our cars and save the planet and species such as the polar bear from extinction.

We now have to ensure we can put green electricity on the grid to ensure that we don't have to burn coal or other dirty carbon-based fuels to charge these next gen cars.

Tesla will sell these cars out in minutes when they go into production, which will simply encourage mass production of similar cars from other manufacturers.

It's a win-win all around.
