  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Most of you may already be aware but I finally figured out how to get rid of the nag screen and the GPS display on start-up of my 2015 Equus. Turn the radio on and select AM/FM or any other button that gives you full screen radio, turn the car off. Restart and turn the radio off.

The next time you start, you only get a blank screen, no nagging and no GPS display (unless of course you select it). The effect of the above is GPS is turned off.

Can’t seem to edit or delete my previous post, unfortunately, because it should be disregarded. Seems I was simply holding the radio button off for more than .8 seconds which turned the system off. I should have studied the manual to begin with.

Nice try:

I like the term "nag screen" though

Only real complaint I have about my Genny - I hate that sucker

The AV/NAV system is a "purchased" package and I believe the nag screen is part of the firmware in the package

Keep trying!

I had a 06 Avalon that the "NAG SCREEN" stayed on until you waited and then pushed an "OK" button on the control panel. I wore the button out and sold the car. That was my only issue with a great reliable car. At least my 16 Genny has a Touch Screen.:)

The '15 has an option in the settings to auto turn off nag screen after a few seconds. I pay no attention to it now (never have, honestly).

Can you be more specific?

If such an option exists - it must be the best kept secret on this forum.

Of course - it does eventually go away, but it's a lot more than a few seconds.

It is 10 seconds if you have the box checked.

Where is this box? Thanks

It's a mystery box -

I'm pretty sure that this little gem is buried in "firmware" where it will forever stay.

Also, I think the real reason for the nag screen is to keep you from doing other things for a period of time. Nobody in their right mind would actually read something as idiotic as that screen. I never have.

And, it's undoubtedly something we can thank the lawyers for.

I'll have to look. If you go through the settings (maybe general), it mentions something about it and you just have to check the box. This tells the nag screen to go away after 10 seconds.

If you have an Ultimate, you can access the setting for the "Agreement Screen" by pressing the HOME button, then Settings, General, Agreement Screen.

It's shown on page 145 of the "DIS Navigation System / Owner's Manual.

And what does the setting permit one to do?

You can check a box and after 10 seconds the nag screen message disappears without having to confirm it every-time via a button on the touch screen. you can still use the button to make it disappear faster ...

I don't have the Ultimate but I have the Signature and I can confirm that after 10 seconds the nag screen goes away on it's own.
