  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone know what kind of leather is used in the Genesis and Equus? I know KIA gives high remarks to its Nappa Leather in the Optima, Cadenza and now K900 but not sure if Hyundai uses Nappa as well. Hyundai just list it as “Ultra Premium Leather”…….

Thanks!!

Wow... that was a long time ago!!

Nappa leather or Napa leather is a leather, typically dyed, made from kid-,cow, calf lamb- or -other skin by tanning. It is noted for its soft temper.[/SIZE][/B]

Sure do miss ole' Ricardo Montalban. According to Wikipedia, "Despite the exotic origin suggested by the name "Corinthian leather", much of the leather used in Chrysler vehicles during the era originated from a supplier located outside Newark, New Jersey.[4]"

Nappa (5 series) and Novillo (M3) are the upgraded leathers used in BMW's. The standard leather is Dakota, which is more durable but not as smooth or soft as Nappa or Novillo (or Merino which is an Individual order option).

I had an Acura MDX with Milano leather and it was nice but showed a lot of wear on the drivers left bolster pretty early. I also had a Lexus with Semi-aniline and it was nice and very supple and didn’t show much wear.

Luxury Brands leather.. I wonder who has the best quality leather in the business?
Acura = Milano Leather

Audi= Valetta

BMW = Dakota, Nappa

Jaguar = Soft Grain

Lexus =Semi-Aniline

Mercedes- Benz = Nappa
