  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had 2010 Genesis Tech package 3.8v since Dec.2009. I had a trip to Camel Valley, CA to drop my son to attend the tennis camp a few weeks ago. It was a clear day, settlelite signal was excellent, we had no problem with the Navigation system all the way from Los Angeles to Camel Valley destination. about 30 mintues later we ready to go back to LAX, I started engine and set destination address, the navigation system begun problem, the settlelite signal is very good, and NAV sys could not find the destination address, then NAV black out for few second then it restarted by itself. I try to use different way to enter the destination, such as voice control "navigate home" command, or enter as a new address, or enter the previous address, they all failed. The NAV sys either black out few second and restart by itself or indicated an unknown destinaiton to follow, it is so weir. We drove the road for about one hour out of the Camel Valley, CA, the NAV system all of a suddend become normal, and I could set the destination.

After I back to LAX, the NAV work normally then I thought this might be just electical glich, did not pay much attention. But two weeks after, I go back to Camel Valley to pick up my son, when we retrun, it happend the same situation again. I knew there is a problem for the NAV system. After I back to LAX, again the NAV became normal.

I bring the car to dealer about this issue, but dealer could not find any problem. The Service advisor tell me he learned some owner experienced the similar problem in Napa Valley, CA (North California area) too.

I am just wondering if anyone has the similar NAV problem?

Short Version: If you are having problems with your Navigation system, call your dealership and ask if your car is eligible for Campaign #P06, it fixed my problems.

I have had problems with my navigation unit.

When I purchased my 4.6 Genesis with Tech package it included 1 year of XM for free. As long as my XM subscription was active, I had no problems with any of the NAVI features. At some point this winter, I started having problems with my voice command feature.

Sometimes I would press the button to give a command, and it wouldn't respond at all. Other times it would pause for a long time, tell me to wait, and then, 10-15 seconds later give me a beep. It would take the command, but the radio wouldn't come back for 30 seconds to 1.5 minutes. Sometimes the whole system would hang up, none of the buttons working at all on the system until I stopped and restarted the engine.

I took it to the shop, where they did their best, but could find nothing. It seemed a little ridiculous to make a big deal about this minor feature, so I just live with it, but it grated on me. The nav/av system for this car cost me $4000, I thought it should work flawlessly.

A few weeks ago, XM offered a free week of access and when my XM service reactivated, everything worked again! Woo-hoo! No delays in voice commands, no hang ups everything was perfect. When the week ended, and the delays and system hangs came back, I gave serious thought to subscribing to XM on one of their resubscribe offers, just to get my navigation working 100% again.

Then, last week my dealership called me up to offer me a free "Navigation Upgrade". They told me it was updating my maps, but it's on a series of 4 DVDs and the update takes hours. Clearly, it's more than simply maps. When I got the car back yesterday, the NAVI operated perfectly, with no lag. f you are having problems with your Navigation system, call your dealership and ask if your car is eligible for Campaign #P06, it fixed my problems.

Thank you for the suggestion of the "Campaign #P06" program. Campaign #P06 seems only apply for certain 2009 model. My 2010 model is not applicable accordingl to the circular.

I bring my 2010 Geneise to Hyundai dealer for checking, dealer cound not find any problem on it. I request to update the Navi system as I learned a new update was just out that may take care of the problem. But dealer say they don't find problem and could not do free update for me. I am very upset about dealer not able to find the problem and don't even offer the free update for the defective. I am very certain that this NAVI was somehow defective twice totallyt in same spot (Camel Valley, CA) on July 11th and July 24, 2010 respectivley when I drove home from Camel Valley, CA.

Last year (2009) July, I drove my 2009 Benz E350 to the same place of Camel Valley, CA and the Benz NAVI has no problem at all. I love so much of my 2010 Genesis since I purchased Dec. 2009, I gave Genesis very high quality grade until I had this problem. I don't know when and wehre the NAVI will defective again. I am now carry one extra potable Garman GPS in the tool box just in case the NAVI something happen agian. Sound ridiculous, but I did it for security reason.

I have run into a similar problem some time ago using a computer-based map program. I could set a course in one direction, but not in the reverse direction. I finally pinned it down to errors in the map database. Not surprisingly, the next annual update to the program fixed the problem.

I have a piece of 4-lane highway near my home that shows up fine on the map, but is impossible to route in one direction. The opposing lane works fine.
