While the map is displayed, depress the DIS knob and some options should show up on the right side of the screen.

This is what happens when you bring a new car home in the dark. Must have been too tired to take notice the reference in the manual that there's a separate book for the navigation. Probably should have gone out there this morning and worked in the light instead of posting (what I now know was) such a lame question.
