Navigation to Home issue. What am I doing wrong

I am a recent GV70 owner (3.5 Sport Prestige).

I have my home address as a saved location called HOME. When i use the Genesis Voice command and say “Go Home”, the response is “setting destination as home”. However it does NOT navigate to home. The map just stays as is with no navigation to any destination.

Any idea what might be happening. I have repeated this many times.

There is a place in the navigation setup to define your home's location and that's where navigation will take you when you say go home.

Have you tried different phrases other then "Go Home" Maybe "Set my destination to home" or "Navigate to home". That's how I do it on my G70.

There are two specific spots on the menu, HOME and WORK. Is that were you set it up?

If you can’t figure out how to set Home properly in the Nav settings, rename your named place Homer or HomeSweetHome (or some such) and see if that works.

Don't use your actual address. If someone steals your car they can go straight to your house open the garage door then enter the house. Set it for a house a few blocks away! Also, hide your registration.

Wow never thought of that. Lots of thieves out there and it will only get worse. Do we know if the alarm on the car activates every time the car is locked or does the key fob have to be pressed twice?

I hope so. That would set off my alarm and they would only have access to the garage (the door between the garage and the house is locked till the alarm is disarmed). Meanwhile, I will get video of them and maybe the police could intercept them.

This has actually been an issue since the days of standalone GPS units and later phones. There were recommendations to program your Home address as something else, e.g. "ratcatcher" or "local dump" . That said, if a car is parked in one's driveway, that's kind of a clue too. But more likely to be someone home.
