  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have been in contact with Mapnsoft, Hyundai and Genesis. Have not been able to secure navigation update for my 2014 Genesis sedan because it has an 7inch non touch screen.

The Mapnsoft website only reference "touch Screen" only.

Sounds like you have a base model.

I don't believe my 2014 is a base model -- it is a 2014 Genesis 3.8 with Premium and Technology packages

Does it have a rear window moveable sunscreen?

Does it have a controller dial on the console?

Okay, then it sounds like you have the Technology package, but that screen is larger than 7” diagonal. Measure your screen. It should be 8”.

The Premium package like my car has the touch screen.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Ok. The screen diagonally is 8 inches - the invoice reads "Ultimate NAV System with 8-inch display"

Yet it is not touch screen. I operate using the center console controller

Okay. Unfortunately, if both Map-n-soft and Hyundai say there is no update available, that’s likely the case. There are no other authorities.

You could get a cup holder phone mount and use your phone for Apple, or Google maps.

Ok-- thanks for sharing your comments.

I was hoping someone had installed in their 2014 and could send me a download.

I guess the majority of the the 2014 had touch-screens.

Try touching your screen. I believe the screen can work by touch too. At least the panel is designed to do that. The software may not, though.

I have the same situation. I have a 2014 R-Spec .... The Screen is definitely not a Touch Screen, but is only controlled by the Center Console Knob. I would update the Navigation Maps, if possible.

No, it’s not set up to be a touch screen in a tech package car, but the screen itself is capable.

I have a 2014 genesis sedan as well but mine has the touch screen nav and the physical buttons around the screen, but i dont have the jog wheel. The first rep I spoke with at mapnsoft was able to verify my info after I emailed her a picture of my system info screen. She said to wait till the update that just came out was released. So I go to the order website and it lists delivery method and download method as SD card, my 2014 does not have a SD slot only USB in the center console. The rep today I chatted with said there is no update for my unit and that it sounds like I have a 2013 nav system.

Just hoping someone out there has the same setup I do and can either confirm or deny if there is actually an update.

I have a 2014 Genesis R-Spec - No touch Screen and the Wheel on the console to control. Also no SD card as well. It must be done with a USB Stick. I contacted a number of Hyundai people and the guy that sold me car. Here is what the Navigation Folks sent me after my e-mail inquiry:

"Thank you for the screenshots of your system information. Reviewing the software version you have, this is a PGEN 1 head unit. The update for this vehicle was discontinued some time ago and is not available to download or purchase. The updates available on the Navigation Updater are for Hyundai Genesis head units, PGEN 2 and GEN 4.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. Thank you for reaching out to the Navigation Solutions Center."

Thanks for your reply
I called mapnsoft this time instead of online chat and the guy was a bit more helpful than the rep over chat was. It turns out my unit is a Gen1.5. Only genesis listed to have that unit is a 2013 on the Hyundai Autoever website. So checked against the update, hyundai site and there is no 2013 or any other year genesis that is listed with touch and buttons but no jog wheel. I guess I will go to the local dealership and see what they can do. or at least they can tell me why my 2014 has a 2013 nav system.

Are you sure you have a 2014 ? ---- Check on the left side of the Steering Column and see if you have the heated steering wheel switch. That was one clear difference between a 2013 and 2014.

I don't have a heated steering wheel switch. But every vin decoder lists my car as a 2014. Although some of them, including uber, list it as a hyundai equus. Life's been busy and haven't gotten around to the dealership yet to enquire there.
