Navigation updates

I have a 2011 4.6 L Genesis sedan and I have noticed that the navigation system is a little dated… Is there a way to do an update to the system without having to purchase hardware that Hass to be reinstalled

Waze and Apple Maps. I would stay away from Google Maps. Your 2011 Genesis GPS might be more up-to-date.

If your car does not have a DIS, you can buy a chip ($99 IIRC) and plug it in yourself.

If your car has a DIS, then the only way to update the navigation maps is approx $500, four-hour long dealer update with a Hyundai-only computer with the engine running the entire time (yes it will use a half-tank of gas). Yes, it's a PITA for the dealer and you, so do what Starflyer says.
