  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anyone have a list of shortcut navigation voice commands? As in a shortcut for: "Directions to....insert name of restaurant/location".

I find going through the voice command menus slow and cumbersome. Right now the only voice commands I use are "Call...so-and-so." And that works great.

I just need a list of shortcuts. Can't find them in the owner's manual.

Hey Stone, what page in the OM are they on?:D

Hi all. I'm guessing the OP is new to the Genesis, like I am.

In the 2012 DIS manual, the Nav commands are at pages 294-301. I've read that and the 415 page owner's manual. I'
ve read several parts twice, having fallen asleep on the first run through. At this point, I'm looking for shortcuts/refreshers.

I'd like to find a printable list of all the NAV commands (including shortcuts and workarounds), if there is one.

I've taped the 324 page DIS manual to the steering wheel, but it keeps falling off.

:)

Funny, I just reach out and touch the map button with my finger.

For folks that have signed up with www.hmaservice.com (anybody can do this) the various Genesis owners manuals, DIS manuals, etc. can be printed to PDF files. Or you can extract just the voice command summary in the DIS manual and print those few pages. There is also a DIS Quick Reference manual that has a one-page summary (page 27 for 2009) of the voice commands.

"plus many are not listed"

Are you talking about commands that are mentioned on the screens but not in the manual, like "correction," "no" and "cancel", or about other commands that are mentioned neither in the manual nor in the screens of the nav system?

For example, is there any way to pull the speller up quickly--faster than having to cycle through the "Please say the (city/street)" 3 times?

I'm guessing there must be some easter eggs hidden in there somewhere, and that someone with years of experience on this system would know them and other short cuts.... It doesn't appear that the system has changed at all since '09.

The 2013 R-Spec voice commands leave a lot to be desired. On my 2010 4.6 I could create a list of customer addresses by name then just say "Navigate to ... customer X" the systems would search the list and set that destination.

On the 2013 I can create list of Customer names and locations in "My Places" under a "group" but there doesn't seem to be a way to voice search. I have to say "My Places" then select the group by saying the line number (assuming you remember which group you put the customer in) then a list of 6 names show up and you have to select the one you want by saying the line number. If the one you want is not in that list of 6 you have to say "Next Page" and then get a list of 6 more. When you see the one you want you have to select it by saying the line number.

Assuming you have not hit a tree by this point the Nave system sets the destination. I must be missing something because that is ridiculous. Does anyone know a better way
