I’m planning to buy a GV70 (CPO or New) and need advice on the best trim + mods for rough road use in Puerto Escondido, Mexico—lots of potholes, gravel, broken pavement.
I absolutely love this car and have seen tons of YouTube videos showing it handles bad roads way better than you'd expect, especially the 3.5T with ECS. I’ll also be driving it on U.S. highways every 6 months, so I want the best balance of ride comfort + ruggedness.
My current plan:
Appreciate any tips—this will be my daily driver for years. Thanks!

My current plan:
- Max-height Spaccer lift (+1.8")
- Smallest wheels + biggest tires that fit cleanly (+1.3")
- 3.5T AWD with ECS (Electronically Controlled Suspension)
- Possibly add a Mando ECS10 or similar module for more suspension tuning
- Will ECS handle Spaccer + big tire setup long-term on bad roads?
- Is 3.5T ECS trim really worth it vs. 2.5T?
- Anyone running Mando ECS10 on a GV70 or GV80?
- Any other mods you'd recommend for ride quality, durability, or protection?
Appreciate any tips—this will be my daily driver for years. Thanks!
