  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

transmission slips at 3rd, left off gas and then resume driving. it does it randomly. is it a sensor or faulty tranmission

I’ve got the same issue, does it on 3rd and 5th. I’ve driven it like that over 20k miles and it hasn’t broke down yet. The only way to find out exactly what’s wrong is for them to drop the transmission and pretty much rebuild it. I’ve had a couple of mechanics look at it and drive it around and they said the only way to find out is to drop it

I don't think they rebuild the trannys, they just replace them. Thought I read where even indy tranny shops can't get a rebuild kit for them. Maybe that was for the newer tranny models. 🤷

I have NEVER heard of any one on this forum getting a transmission rebuilt. There is no data/parts available to do a rebuild. Best bet it to take to dealer and do a relearn and maybe have the fluid/filter changed. Otherwise a new/used transmission is likely needed. I had a similar issue, relearn procedure did not fix it, had a used low mileage transmission installed Mine is a 2011 4.6 and had around 95,000 at the time.

Curious if anyone having this issue got their tranny fluid replaced at some point in the past. I bought a new one, trying to plan.
