  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A little over a month ago, someone backed into my driver's door. Very minor, and I only got it fixed because his insurance paid 100%. Everything worked fine after the incidient.

I finally got around to bringing it in for repairs, and picked it up yesterday. When getting into the car, I noticed that I could unlock the driver door, but no other doors. This is the case using the remote, the button on the door handles, or the switches inside. Concerning the switches inside, if you use the one on the driver door, it will lock/unlock just the driver door (same as using the remote or door handle button). If you try the switch on the passenger door or the button on the passenger door handle, nothing happens.

What is also confusing is that the passenger window does not work - regardless of using the switch on the driver door or the passenger door. The other three windows work fine.

The repair shop popped the switch panel on the driver door, and all seems normal. I need to bring it back in tomorrow so they can fully look into it. They are totally stumped.

Could there be loose wires or a loose harness inside? Obviously the wires from the switch panel on the driver door have to go somewhere.

Any ideas of where I can tell them to look?

Thanks in advance.

Same issue here, did you find out what was the problem?

It was the switch assembly in the passenger side door. Can't recall what the dealer quoted, but it was ridiculous. So I bought a new one off ebay for about $50 and my mechanic swpped it our for free since it was only a 15 minute fix. He just popped out old one, took out the plugs, and reversed the order with the new one.
