  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The drivers side vanity mirror shattered one day and I didn't notice until I tried to open the mirror - it opened part way and the broken glass jammed the sliding door...I managed to close it and duct taped it closed but the glass rattles when visor is in down position. Does anyone know how to fix the mirror? would appreciate advice!

Assuming you are not ugly, how did the mirror shatter?

You may need a new sunshade. Call some local auto parts junkyards.

We were in Florida at the time and I think the car got really hot in the sun and that did it. Also at same time a pair of prescription glasses I had stored in the holder beside the visor had the coating on the lens "craze" so they were useless at night.
I was hoping I could just replace the glass, not the whole visor but I'll look for parts. Thanks for reply

Why not stop buy an auto interior shop. Just do a google search for your area. Phone a few shops. They could probably swap out the mirror easily. It’s a simple job to vacuum out the smaller pieces.
