Terrible, sorry. Someone should at least respond to you with a little info like "We're working on it, Happened to 10% of folks, We expect a solution soon, etc." Not just crickets. Since my (used, but new to me) car is still on its original 2020 factory build (no real issues, knock on wood), I really would like the latest release. BUT I am just too nervous at this point to try to leapfrog over 5 years' of SW releases into the latest one with no life jacket, especially if people who have many/much more recent releases are having problems.
I used to work in the computer biz, and the early adopters we said were on the "bleeding edge." SW can be tricky, but there should always be a plan B that allows current users to go back down to the previous, working release. I am a fairly new owner to Genesis but I have spent hours catching up reading all the forum posts. My overall impression is that Genesis had a great idea (and hopefully has a bright future) but the overall task to create a Korean luxury brand from ground zero was monumental. They hired great designers (#1 strength), and they have as good or better vision and drive toward the latest features and tech as any European, American or Japanese car company.
Some times starting from scratch can be an advantage (eg, Japanese mfgs in 70s and 80s vs legacy US cos.), but achieving critical mass can take years, if ever. HW is almost always easier to diagnose and fix than SW. The biggest missed assumption Genesis made in their business model was that Hyundai dealers would embrace their "separate and better" vision for the company. Humans are generally short-sighted, overly discounting future benefits in present value--I want it NOW. Dealers want to sell cars, profitably, TODAY.
I hope you, and others can hang in there as the critical mass, especially in the service arena, gets traction. Hyundai Corp (and I particularly believe the Kia division) will be the next real technology leaders in EVs and hybrids. they are ahead of Tesla. They are all in, and suppliers like LG and Samsung have the advanced tech and batteries. But the world could easily get swamped by BYD and other Chinese mfgs if those flood gates are ever opened. But back to the SW problem at hand. Genesis delayed this release and even for months has closed ALL upgrades/downloads to prior releases since April of this year (2025), counting on and holding out for this Q4 release.
So they should have had enough time to check it out thoroughly, and on many existing vehicles of different configurations and vintages. Then they announced the October ready date, and immediately slid it out another 2 weeks after launch. This leads me to believe even with all the additional time and testing, it still was/is(?) not ready/stable. They should seek customers like you out to reach out to to figure out what is not working. It might be an easy-ish tweak. Or is is possible that there is just some glitch unique to your download or your car(s) that they never accounted for. I have not seen too many other complaints but people are busy, many never upgrade, and it is still early to specify any trend.
In your particular case (it maybe too late now), I am wondering if you tried a second, virgin, premium usb drive and/or if you have tried downloading it on a different PC or switched from Windows to Mac OS or vice versa? If they are leaving you hanging, I would try every other alternative at my disposal on my end in the (less probable) event that the issue is local and not universal/corporate. Good luck!
