Need help updating nav

I have a 2021 G70 Elite. I have the SD card from Genesis, but I would like to know the precise of events for updating the nav system. Do I remove the current card BEFORE starting the car and then insert the new one? I am not able to find the actual directions once you have the SD card in hand on the Genesis or Mapnsoft sites, so any assistance would be appreciated. TYIA.

Either way works. Once you put the card in, it will be read the the update will start. Since the car should be running, I prefer to take a ride. You won't have radio, cameras, navigation, but you do .have the AC and the window works if you go to the drive-up for a coffee.

Usually takes about 30 minutes. When the music starts to play, it is done and everything works.
