  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

This summer we bought my daughter a 2013 Genesis Coupe 2.0T for a graduation present. Well she is now off to college and despite warnings about the very low front has managed to tear off some of the plastic under the car on a curb. It's hanging off the front end and dragging the ground. The car is about 3 hours away and I'm trying to help her get going over the phone and email.

She has sent me a picture that I have hopefully attached. I found a video online of a 2012 owner removing his front bumper cover. It showed what looked like 4 phillips head screws holding the piece of plastic that my daughter tore off to the front bumper.

My question is if the 2013 and 2012 are pretty much the same and can she remove 4 screws to remove the plastic that is dragging the ground? Then when she gets the car home I can see how many parts I need to order and fix it right.

Thanks for your help.

Make her help fix it and then she will understand the trouble caused by not paying attention. I did this with my daughter when she was 19 and so far its the only accident she has had, she is 32 now.

Tomorrow afternoon she will be crawling under the front of it to remove the screws holding what's left of the part on the bumper. Being without the car a few days and having to do this should make her pay more attention.

She got it off yesterday afternoon. Thanks for your help.
