  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys, I just bought a 2011 genises sedan 3.8. Got a good deal on it and it seems like a great car so it was a no brainer. I am now interested in doing a muffler delete and upgrading the air intake. I just want to make sure that it doesn't mess with the car's ecu in any way. Would I need a tune after doing a muffler delete and a new air intake? also the navigation system has been glitching out on me constantly, does any one have advice regarding that? thank you for your time.

Congrats on the new-to-you car(y)
Think about your car in long term rather than short term when it comes to the exhaust. Anything you do here should be easily reversible. Example would be to buy a catback exhaust, rather than a muffler delete. Doing this removes much more exhaust drone vs. muffler removal, and it will sound better, not to mention it won't look all hacked up underneath your car.

This was my mistake back in 2009, although there wasn't an exhaust manufacturer that made a catback system for my car at the time, but I was too excited to hear my first V8 car and was impatient wait to even see if a catback exhaust would be available in the future. I now have had a Borla catback for about 3 years and it's amazing.

You can skip a tune since there are none available, however people do rave about the sprintbooster, so you may want to look into this product. It shortens the tranny shifting.

Cold air intake is up to you, but many say it's too expensive for our vehicles and doesn't provide any performance gains.

Most importantly, If you are looking to upgrade your vehicles performance, start with a summer tire compound.

Good luck!

Catback exhaust is fine. Just keep all the sensors.

Do not do a CAI on the car. Waste of $.
