  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had the Genesis manual, and my Blackberry Bold manual with me in the car, and did have the bluetooth on, as I attenpted to pair the phone to the car.

I think I can't find where to pull up "how to pair the Blackberry Bold to the car", even though I think I'm in that section of both manuals.

How do I get the phone to "find Genesis"?

Then when should I press the pair phone choice on the Genesis which gives me 2 minutes to enter the passkey? And is it the passkey # that the BlackBerry Bold has, or is it the one in the Genesis manual?

I guess I'm a dummy, so write me back in baby steps, like I'm a 3rd grader.

Many thanks from Acey! :o

Ok, pairing your phone with the genesis is a simple process I can step you through it:

1. Navigate to the bluetooth settings on your blackberry and enable
2. Go to the phone screen in the car and press the settings button
3. Then press pairing
4. Press the add to button on the left side of the screen
5. on your blackberry scan for available bluetooth devices and in a few seconds you should see Genesis pop up as an option to pair with.
6. Select Genesis on your phone and enter the passkey displayed on the Genesis screen. By default the passkey is 1234
7. Allow your phone to sync up, should only take a couple of seconds and then you will be prompted on your phone to allow access to your contacts list. It may also give you an option to Always allow this connection and you should click OK to that.

Once it is paired you are all set just make sure Bluetooth is always enable on your phone when you are getting into your car and it will sync immediately after the car is started and all of your contacts will be available for dial by name functionality.

Also, if you use an app like Pandora to stream music on your phone and would like to enable music streaming to the car stereo there is an option under the settings tab to enable audio streaming on the Genesis screen so make sure that is enable as well if you would like that feature. I use this sometimes on long trips if XM starts repeating songs too often.

MNC, nice guide for Acey!

One thing though: Acey has the Tech pkg, and I don't believe BT streaming works except with non-tech units. Hard to believe, possibly different for '11(?), but I'm pretty sure hers is a '10.

Thanks, MNC, got it paired!
Still I had to go back and remember to either tell it don't show me this message again, after I had to go back and tell it to auto- connect.

But it is done and just fine. I'm not into streaming....or downloading...XM still is too much fun channel surfing!

And mine is '09

Many thanks again!:)

Great! Glad to help and enjoy it...You are right about the channel surfing on XM too you never know what you are going to find on there.

Help so appreciated again. And the xm (not to change the subject) has exposed me to learning classical music and paying attention to the composers, and also the old radio entertainment / stories to listen to with their melodramatic organ music is so interesting to me!
