  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So the 2nd transmission on my 2012 Hyundai 5.0 R-Spec sedan is slipping. I replaced the original one when the car had 63k I now have 112k and this transmission is on the way out. I had replaced my original with the same year transmission because I'm not sure if I can put a 2013 or 2014 transmission in it from a 5.0 R spec or an Equus..
I've got access to a 2013 Equus transmission now I'd like to swap in... But I'm not sure if it'll work. I call parts departments and they have some interchange part numbers and or superceding part numbers but no one can tell me for sure that it will definitely work. Please help.

Hahaha now my 3rd 2012 transmission went out.
No one answered my previous question so I just bought and had installed another 2012... In March of 23. It's broke already. I guess I have to put a 4th transmission in this piece of crap.

Well if you're in W. Florida, my retired silver 12 just got totaled by Geico after a non-airbag rear-ending-sandwich that took out the top of the radiator. It has (had?) a perfectly fine working 105kmi transmission and is sitting in a Copart lot awaiting customers just like you. Copart will be making bank on this car.

Sad news, Gunk. Hopefully, no injuries. Best of luck.

My ‘12 3.8 Premium is still in daily service with my Son. The extended warranty will expire in August. Best vehicle ever owned! Safe, fast, reliable, comfortable & beautiful.

Thank you so much for the response ! I just purchased a 12 transmission from a spot in Cocoa that has 45K on it. I ran a Carfax on the vin and all just to be sure. Also I'm getting a 1-year warranty versus the last one I bought at a different place gave me 6 months. That said fingers crossed everything's fine. If I hadn't found that one I would totally have the guys at the shop call copart. Thanks again.
