  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I have a 15 Genesis and this is the 2nd problem to have had with my tail lights. About two months ago I had the rear led replaced thank god for warranty which just now ended with just at 40k miles. The light before they replaced would work then stop so they replaced. Now the rear inner right light reverse won’t work. The rest of the light works signal brake etc. after taking it to the shop they said I need a new light and what do you know that light is 700 too. So I checked all fuses myself and switched the light on both sides to see if they work before I replace. After hooking up on the left side everything works fine after moving the left light to the right no reverse only again.. I only did this to test. Can anyone help has anyone had this issues again only 40k miles everything works but reverse and works on other side. Keep in mind I also have led light only.

Check the contacts for corrosion. If one of your seals around the light is leaking, water could seep into the connector and corrode the contacts.

If the light works when connected to the other side, then the problem may be the harness. I recommend explaining the testing you did to see if the shop can troubleshoot the harness. Many traditional auto shops do not specialize in electrical troubleshooting and may waste your money by replacing parts that aren't broken, like the shop already tried to do. You may have better luck going to an auto-electric specialist if there is one near you.
