New 2010 4.6 w/ Tech

I picked up my new 2010 4.6 Tech Package (black on black w/ tinted windows) about 2 weeks ago. What a great car! I came out of a 2006 Infiniti M35 ... with a few minor exceptions (fit and finish), this car beats the M hands down! I'm still 'breaking it in', so I haven't tested the 375hp yet ... but had it up on the highway yesterday and without noticing it, I was doing over 90mph ... again, what a GREAT car! Looking forward to the break in period being done soon.

I am thinking about making the same jump (M35X). Fit and finish seem lesser to you? My first observation (testing an '09) was the VERY high quality of the seat leather. Nicer than the Infiniti and a Benz E-class. And much nicer than a BMW 3 series.

I've updated my profile ... I guess now I'm an official owner.

I live intown (North Buckhead) and purchased from Ed Voyles on Cobb Parkway. I was going to go with Jim Ellis on Peachtree Industrial, but they couldn't find a black on black 2010 4.6 model, so ... I ended up going elsewhere. I had calls out to every dealer in Atlanta, and none could come up with the 2010 4.6 in the color I wanted. This one hit the dealer Thursday night, was on the showroom floor Saturday morning, and I bought it Sunday (they held it for me from Saturday night).

Very pleased so far. I need to go back to the dealer for some minor stuff they owe me ... otherwise, I haven't had any other interaction with them (yet).

The car itself is GREAT!

What was your experience with Ed Voyles? I am currently exchanging emails with them on price on 2009 and 2010 models. I do not care for their $600 doc fee and the fact that they keep leaving it out every other time they give me a quote. I feel like they are kind of giving the sleazy car sales treatment. What type of price did you get on the 2010? They are telling me 2010s are invoice and 2009s are $2000 below invoice but that does not include their fees.

Invoice for a 2010, and 2K below invoice both sound like decent deals. So it's really $600 over invoice (their fees)?

Yes. $600 over invoice with fees. I have another dealer who charges $1000 in fees but is coming in lower overall on 2009s but has no 2010s. At this point I am waiting for Hyundai to announce some type of rebate for the 2009s to help clear out inventory. I know of at least three dealers who have a decent amount of 2009s that have not moved in weeks.

Fit and finish issues ...
I noticed (2 days after I got home) that the top portion of the grill attached to the hood didn't line up with the bottom portion (it is off to the right to the point that its noticeable).
I noticed that the rear bumper where it raps around to meet up to the rear wheel wells isn't exactly even when looking at the right side to the left side (probably a non issue - but something that I noticed).
The third thing - which I'd love for someone to explain to me - is what the 2 plastic looking squares are at the front of the rear wheel wells (just below the rear doors). They look like they are left over from shipping tape, but when I called the dealer, they said they are supposed to be there. I haven't had time to go back to the dealer to have them look at the first two issues ... but hope to this weekend. The hood is the primary one that is most obvious. I probably would have done a better job of checking these out on delivery, but I had my 1 y.o. daughter with me and after 2 - 3 hours at the dealer, she was done ...

Protective tape to deflect stones and stuff from dinging the flared wheel well panels. It's the same material as those clear bra protective films. Without that, the area rear of the doors would look as bad as my front bumpers do around the foglamps. I just bought my touch-up paint for that.
