  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So Im just curious, I just got a 2011 Genesis 4.6 sedan and Im wondering what the best suspension options are! I know with 350z’s and g35’s all the suspension is interchangeable just the only difference is the spring rates. Is it the same way with the Genesis? Virtually I just want to know if I could take the springs from a coupe and apply them to a sedan? Because my buddy has turbo coupe and wants to sell me his old springs. Would the difference between coupe and sedan springs just be the spring rate or would they just not fit at all? Please let me know!!

Welcome. Moving this to our first generation suspension section...

It's a possibility they may "fit" but the G70 is a lighter car and the engineers optimize the suspension to a specific design point. (Damping factors, natural harmonic frequencies, etc.)

If the springs are "compatible," they most likely will jack up the ride vs. make it more sporty and improve the handling.

I'd be interested to hear how it turns out if the fitment is the same.

I don't think it would work safely. Completely different cars. Different Chassis, different suspension mount points, different vehicle weights.
Going aftermarket is your best bet.

I just want to know if I can use like a Genesis Coupe Manzo Lowering Springs on Genesis Sedan. Like does the spring mount up to the sedan strut the same as the coupe? Thats what I want to know because I used a 370z Manzo Lowering Spring setup on a 2008 G35 sedan. The drop was estimated 1.5” for the Z but I got a 3” drop on it on the G35 without sacrificing ride feel. Still felt great better than oem for $80

Maybe this will help some.
