  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So I did a lot of research, a lot of waiting, and a lot of test driving before deciding on the Genesis. I purchased yesterday and a spent a lot of time in it today. I have to say I am thrilled with every aspect of this car. That said, I read every post in the dislikes and likes threads before buying, so I really didn't have any negative surprises.
The Genesis was not even on my radar when looking for a new car. I test drove everything from an Avalon limited up through Mercedes E when looking for a replacement for my E430. I have owned most of the standard luxury brands including 3 Infiniti, Lexus, Jaguar, Acura, and Mercedes. I had decided on an Infiniti Q70L mainly because I had been so happy with Infiniti in the past and I love the styling. I test drove the Genesis 5.0 Ultimate after reading some reviews just to do my "due diligence" expecting to pass on it quickly. Even after the test drive, it took a lot of research over 2 weeks to finally decide on the purchase. I am very happy that I did. There are many terrific cars out there, and every car has trade offs, but the Genesis is the most well rounded car I have ever driven. When you add the price to the equation it is exceptional.

Sounds like you did your homework! Congratulations on your new toy and welcome!

Congrats and excellent choice.

:welcome: to the forum and congrats on the new ride. You will find with each coming day, that smile on your face will grow larger with each press of the throttle... :D

Congrats on your new ride. You are gonna love it.

I too, spend hours here on the forum digesting all of the likes and dislikes and did all of the due diligence that I could think of and wound up with a 2015 5.0 Ultimate B/B just like you did. I've never regretted my decision for one moment since I pulled the trigger last November. I consider it to be the finest car that I've ever owned.

My guess is that you will be as happy as I am.

Great choice! With the 5.0 you get the full luxury car experience for a lot less than other brands. Effortless power and well matched to the 8 speed. You'll also like the variable electronic suspension, not discussed much, but very nice for controlling body roll while still providing a smooth and controlled ride.

The electronic suspension was what really pushed me to the 5.0 over the 3.8... Sure, I love the power, but I don't think I will really be using it all that much. The suspension and the smoother nature of the V8 are a win though

Congrats.

Only way to go - black on black. If you're in the Chicagoland area, you'll see me driving around. It's more than likely the cleanest car on the road. (obsessed with keeping my car clean!) :)

I also was shopping the same cars as you. I previously owned the 2012 Genesis, but wanted to see if anything else would compare. Needless to say, nothing did.

Heh, I was given a Sonata loaner today while my windows are tinted. It is the 2.0T sport, so loaded. While you can see the family resemblance, they are completely different cars. I can tell where every penny of the price difference went on the Genesis, and it is worth it!
