  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,

Just picked up the vehicle last week and only today I noticed that the drivers side seatbelt is twisted. Is there a way to remove the bottom piece of the belt at home easily or should I schedule something with the dealer?

If, when you say "twisted" you are meaning what I think you're meaning, it can be fixed by hand. Super strange that a new vehicle would have this issue, though?

It has happened to me "naturally" a few times over many decades of car ownership, so... yes it can happen on its own but its pretty rare in my own experience.

The Fix: Figure out which way the twist needs to go to reverse it to the way you want, and then (this video) actually shows it better than I can explain it in words. This has worked for me each time.

This is the best I can show it, but only that "bottom" area is twisted when the seat belt is set be straight. Not sure how it happened either, but if that bottom buckle portion can be removed, I think it can fix.

Oof ok ya that's a good twist, but can you not shift that twist above the stopper, then feed it through the buckle as shown in the above video?

Are you sure that the bottom connection isn't installed facing the wrong way? It looks like it is to me, but I don't have a GV70 to compare to. If it is turned wrong, the bottom bolt will have to be removed to turn it around. Some seat trim will need to come off to get to it. You may want to get the dealer to handle this since it is in warranty.

I just found the same thing on my G70, after driving it for 6 months

That's going to have to be taken care of under warranty. Have your dealership fox it

Fix it, not "fox it"

Yup, could not find a solution, went to the dealership to fix.
