  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm close to purchasing a 2012 Genesis base model!
The factory sale price is $39999 plus a $1770 dealer fee!
Yes these are Canadian prices!
Their currently is approx. $4500 in factory rebates plus whatever dealer discount I can get !
Finance rates are 2.99 % to qualify for the rebates!
My question is what are the major differences between this and the the premium package as I can't justify an extra $5000 for a nav system!
Thanks John

All the differences should be listed on the Hyundai Canada website.

i originally didnt want the TEK package, but im glad i got it. The entertainment system, nav, etc etc IHO is worth it. That Lexicon is awesome! but you've got to judge for yourself. take your favorite album or dvd and have a listen... btw i dont use the nav..........

congrats on a fine decision either way!

The dealer tells me the base car is hard to find and he'll have to factory order it!
Just wondered what color people recommend?
Thanks

I would recommend trying your best to get the best deal with whatever is on the lot that is acceptable for you. I'm not sure how Canada' dealers works but here in the states every single care takes up real-estate and after a period of time it starts costing the dealership $$ to keep that car on the lot. These are the ones that are going to be the best deal financially.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The same situation exists here in the Great white North as well.
I'm torn between the base model and the premium and the base is not a big seller and I don't want to pay $5000 for a Nav system.
So there is limited supply of the base. The dealer has already quoted my a low price so that is not the issue.
Thanks John

Don't trust the dealer as far as limited supply or anything.

I had this decision to make as well and I am glad I got the premium. The Tek package nav/dis system imo is way way way out of date, althrough it's not terribad imo.

Reasons: (Us version at least)
Stereo
Wheels
Leather on dash/doors(not sure on can)
Automatic mirrors
Nav
Sunshade
Rear camera

Canada gets:
Heated rear seats
HID lights

There are quite a few more features than just the nav system. Go to the Hyundai Canada site and compare for yourself.

Well, among other things the Premium adds 18" wheels, retractable rear sunshade, 14 speaker audio, retractable side mirrors, touch screen 7" Nav screen, sunroof, LEATHER DASH AND DOOR TRIM, telescoping steering wheel, memory seats, auto sensor wipers and backup camera.

Okay here is what I can glean from the Hyundai Canada website for the differences between the Base sedan and the premium!
1. HID lights
2. 18 " alloys
3. 6.5" Nav display
4. Lexicon Audio system with 14 speakers
5. Park sensors
6. Back up Camera
7. Folding Mirrors
8. Rear heated seats
9. Rear window sunshade

So if I put a value on all that I come up with $3500
