  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Picked up my black/black ultimate on Tuesday. I am enjoying the car the more I drive it. Very happy I went with the ultimate. Several features I am using and appreciate I have (refrigerator, back seat storage, side window shades, rear reclining seat.)
Traded in my 2009 Genesis 4.6. Loved the car, but the Equus is a significant step up. It is much quieter and quicker. No lag in acceleration. I know the audio is the same (had the tech package) but the quality of sound seems better in the Equus. Even when not driving.
Paid $59,400 in Florida and also got an additional $1500 back for having a previous Hyundai. This car is a steal!
Prior to the purchase, I testing an Audi A8L, Mercedes S, BMW 750IL, Porsche Panamera and Jaguar XJL. All the cars were at least $20,000 more with significantly less options. I have owned 3 Porsches and was very disappointed in the Panamera. I drove the 6 cylinder and thought it was slow and the handling was not tight. So, after spending time and effort to find the best car for me, I went with the Equus.
My only suggestions to Hyundai would be to add bluetooth rear DVD headsets and bluetooth streaming audio. I would have paid more money to get these options.

Its a BIG step up!

Congrats on the new equus. Have some questions for you though, pertaining to the camera system and the ride height control. I have a 2011 equus ultimate and have been having what I think is a problem. Had it to the dealer a couple of times for service and can't seem to fix the problems. First of all, when I drive the car in normal mode it drives with a very minimal pull to the right, however when I raise the vehicle it seems that I need to turn the steering wheel about an inch or more to the left to keep the vehicle straight. As soon as I drop it down, it goes back to steering straight. Can't figure it out. Another issue that I have which I did not have on my genesis was the camera display. When I am either backing up or moving forward into a space my colors are off. In other words, the green grass is always brown or tan, in either the front or the rear, and the rear camera is a little fuzzy. Replaced once did nothing for the quality. Any one else having these problems? Sitting at the dealers today for another attempt to correct this pulling problem.

Conrailguy -- I noticed same problem with back up camera, not a clear, sharp image. What brought it to my attention was how clear and sharp the image was in the 2012 Genesis I just drove as a service loaner

Congrats on your purchase - that exact color combo looks incredible - saw one in the next town over and was drooling over it!

:)

I was gonna suggest you check to see if the protective plastic was removed from your camera, but you pointed out you already had the entire thing replaced.... so I can't think of any reason why you're still seeing an issue. Good luck!

Both the front and rear camera display on my car is sharp and the colors are accurate.
In terms of the alignment when driving the car when lifted higher, I will check it out and get back to you.
I have been driving the car all the time in sport mode. I enjoy the ride better. It is stiffer, but not as stiff as a German car.

Thanks a bunch, I look forward to your findings. I have been beating my head against the wall on this one. No one can seem to figure out what the problem is with this car. So far spent a total of 14 hours trying different things to make it better. Given it back to me twice saying it's better only to find out the car rides the same. Raise it, it pulls to the right, lower it to normal, car still pulls to the right but slightly. Camera views off color, and fuzzy. The dealer says that they reset the ride height, adjusted the engine cradle, and aligned it 3 times. But yet it keeps going back to the same. I even had one guy tell me it's fixed. Drove it and seemed to be better only to find out that he took 15lbs of air out of the opposite front tire. Not acceptable!!!!! Filled tires to appropriate pressures and problem came back. Imagine that????
