  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

True Marketing Genious!! (but an outstanding value too!)

For anyone who's interested, the Equus owner's manual app is now available for free at the iTunes iPad app store.

Local dealership had a special showing last night from 6PM to 8PM. Beer, wine, snacks. Pretty good turn-out. I think the seats feel great, but the rising foot rest function for the passenger side rear is beyond ridiculous -- Like even with the front passenger seat all the way forward the foot rest nearly digs into the back of the front seat. Huge gimmick, and has no place in a car without very much more leg room in the back -- I don't care if you're only five feet tall. (It's probably a passenger's wet dream in the limo model)

One thing I thought was lame was that they couldn't demo the massage function. Said the engine had to be running and since we were indoors it wasn't an option. Someone should have planned for that since it's one of the (relatively) practical upgrades from the top of line Genesis.

Dealer said he drove one, and the transmission tune provides less of a jolt from a complete stop relative to the Genny. I'd welcome that.

Overall, a beautiful luxurious car but the Signature doesn't seem to be at anywhere near a $15K premium to the 2011 Genesis V8 w/tech. Further, the enhanced model doesn't seem to be worth anywhere near a $5K premium to the Sig. I'll stick to making incremental improvements to my Genny. :-)

My dealer also had the demo night last night. Good turnout, considering the weather, but fewer than 150 people total.

My impression - the Equus would be fine if you are in an income bracket where spending 20K more for a car for a few minor gadget upgrades isn't a big deal. Of course, the same can be said for the differences between a top end Lexus GS and a Genesis, or between a top end Genesis and a Honda Accord.

It's a good start, but I hope this isn't the finished product insofar as the iPad owner's manual is concerned. There's no information at all about the audio system; no information about the navigation system; virtually no information about the Bluetooth interface; and no info about or listing of spoken voice commands. It's also not linked from the contents page, so you have to spend a lot of time scrolling to find something. It's pretty crude in its utiliziation of iPad capabilities.
