  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I already replaced the pads all around (the front Brembo are very easy). I've decided the front rotors were more worn than I like, and decided to put new ones in also. (I don't like turned rotors, and new ones aren't all that expensive.) I've done plenty of brake jobs before, but this will be the first time on my genny. Anybody have any advice about the front Brembos before I start into it?
Also, it's time for new windshield wipers. Most cars, I just cut off the ignition when the arms are at the top of their travel, to get at the wipers. With this one, the arms just go ahead and park anyhow. Does opening the hood give enough clearance?

If you look in the owner's manual you will see how to raise up the wipers to change them. I forgot exactly how to do it, but I know it's in the manual.

Replaced mine with the hood closed. Having it open made it more difficult. I went with valeo off Amazon at a good price.

I replaced mine with Bosch Icons, I love them.

And this is how you put them in "service position":

Check my post here: http://genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showpost.php?p=144907&postcount=42

1. Get in the car and shut the door
2. Push the start button
3. Push the start button again to put it into ACC mode
4. Push the start button one more time to turn the car OFF
5. Push the "Mist" feature upwards for 5 seconds or so
6. The wipers will move up and stop to service them
7. Get back in the car and turn the car on and hit the wiper button to put them back down

Thanks I figured there was a way to do that but never tried to figure it out.

Well, got the new rotors and wiper blades in. After reading about the set-screw in the 2009, I was worried, but the screws came out without any problems. Had to undo the little mounting braket for the brake line to get clear access to the top caliper mounting bolt, and it took a breaker bar to get the bolts loose, but fortunately with a quite reasonable amount of tourqe, nothing unreasonable. I put the new rotors on my digital batchroom scale, 25 lbs each! The first set of rotors the parts store sold me were too big (340mm I believe). The second smaller set (300 or 310mm, can't remember) fit fine.

And the magic incantation for the service position for the wiper blades worked just fine, Thanks for the info! :welcome:
