  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good morning. Have a CT5V Blackwing on order for 6 months and was looking for a sports sedan to play with until its finally (hopefully!) built and delivered. Almost bought a Lexus IS500 but at the last minute the dealer decided to add $3,000 ADM fee so I walked.
On Friday I'll pick up a 22 G70, Siberian ice with black interior, 6 cylinder, RWD, with both the Sport advanced and Sport prestige packages.
Paid MSRP and no ADM or screwy add on fees. Plus I got another $500 off for being retired military. Decided to avoid the AWD model because I have a truck for bad weather or I just stay home since I am retired, lol.
Hopefully it will not depreciate much as I wait for the Black Wing.
Just wanted to introduce myself and am sure I'll have plenty of questions as this is my first Genesis.

Sounds like you like speed being that you're getting the Blackwing! (Cue throttle house review - if you haven't seen it, check it out!) Many don't know but Caddy makes amazing handling sedans. Looking forward to seeing that one too! In terms of RWD vs AWD. If you end up tuning the car, AWD gives you much better traction for serious acceleration. All good either way! Enjoy the car 😀

Congrats on your G70, future blackwing, and welcome to the forum! Are you planning to tune the G70 or leave it stock while you wait for the Blackwing?

Plan on keeping the car stock. We currently own a 21 Jeep Wrangler as a third vehicle and the wife and I no longer enjoy the bouncy ride and the difficulty of getting in and out of it (senior citizens).
The G70 will replace the Jeep and we only plan on keeping the G until the BW arrives. However, the wife has already said if she likes the G70 she might want me to trade in her Expedition on the BW.

Normally I would seriously question the idea of buying a new car to fill the interim until another new car is ready. Decades of life have taught us that this is a foolish thing to consider. Six months or so is not a long time. It is an example of the wack period we are in that I must adapt my thinking to realize you may have nearly no depreciation for the G70. Try a new car for six months, sell it for near same as new. Try another for six months. Congratulations to you for sensing the zeitgeist. What a time to be alive!

It has been a great time to get rid of the vehicles we don't need anymore. Even though I paid MSRP for the G70 I sense it will not lose more than 2-3K (if that) by the time BW is built.
Just the other day was telling the wife how nice it was to enjoy a Jeep for over a year and sell it for more than what we paid. Did the same thing with my ZL1. Owned it 2 years and sold it in December for what it cost new.
If we lived in normal times the Jeep would of stayed until the BW arrives. But why not enjoy something new and different on someone else's dime!

A shout out to Bentley Hyundai in Huntsville Alabama. Car was ready as planned, in and out of the dealership in one hour. No nagging up sell techniques by the finance guy. No games, delays, etc. No surprises on the value of my trade. Everything they said they would do they did. Highly recommend them if you are in the market for a new car.
Now I just need to develop a good technique for getting in and out of the car. It aint easy being 68!

Congratulations! I understand about getting in and out at 67. Actually, getting in is easy as gravity is my friend. Well, at least in this case! Getting out, I cheat by hooking my left arm around the outside of the door post and pull/push with it. Gotten pretty good at it. Most don't even notice my graceful exit!😏
