  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just got home with my brand new V8 Genesis sedan. The color is black with saddle interior and technology package. The only thing left to do is tint the windows and re-badge with the wings. I will post pics once that is done.

First impressions of the car:

Of course, I love it. Drives very nice. The V8 is very powerful. Handling is great. Suspension and ride is nice, but I will wait a while before weighing in on that. The Lexicon system is better than I anticipated. I am very happy with the quality of sound. Easily one of the best looking cars on the road.

As I mentioned in my other post, I was also looking into Lexus. I liked the Genesis better, but really saw the value in the dealership experience that Lexus offers. I was a bit apprehensive about buying a luxury car from a dealership that also sells sub $15k cars. Well, I have to tell you, the dealership experience with Ron Carter in Houston was outstanding and professional. There was no "boiler room" feel to the experience. Everything was first rate and I highly recommend them for all folks in Houston interested in buying a Genny. If you are looking in Houston, send a PM and I will forward some good contacts.

Thanks again for a great site. All the helpful information was appreciated.

Heading back outside to jack around with the new ride.

Enjoy!

SWEET DEAL!!!! Join the club!

Welcome to the club. Get ready, because you will find that all of the sudden:
  • You want to go for long drives, to no particular place, for no particular reason.
  • You'll want to exit the highway often so you experience the exhilaration of re-entering and "merging" with traffic.
  • You will want to spend time in your car at night, with all the cool blue lights glowing, while you listen to your favorite music in your private music hall.
  • You will watch movies, sitting in your car, in your garage, with your family in the car. (keep the garage door open :)).

If you really want to experience the power of your 17 speaker Lexicon audio system, buy the DVD-Audio (Fry's or Amazon) of Blue Man Group. It's awesome 5.1 that uses all the bass available. In fact, I did all of the above tonight just to listen to this DVD I just purchased at Fry's. Check out this thread for more in-depth discussion around music and the Genesis Lexicon: http://www.genesisowners.com/hyundai-genesis-forum/showthread.php?t=1300&referrerid=1913

Welcome to a truly "VIP" group of people who were smart enough to do their homework in advance, and buy a car that keeps a larger portion of money in their own pocket--instead of someone else's!!! And, considering the fact that you'll be spending a disproportionate time in your car--and not in the dealership--give a little less credence to whatever they have to offer at the dealership--and be glad their overhead (or lack of) hasn't been added to your sticker price!

Enjoy the ride--I've had mine (V6, Premium Plus pkg.) since Aug. '08, and still love it!
