  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello to all!

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Matt and I'm from Hartselle, Alabama.

My new Genesis has made it to the USA and is on its way to the dealership for delivery. It is said to be here Friday! I AM SO PUMPED!!!

My wife just graduated in May from Samford University with her Doctorates in Pharmacy and her graduation, Christmas, Birthday, and Anniversary present is this car. She has no clue! I will be parking the car in an air-conditioned unit until Christmas Eve. I will, however, sneek it to work and back a few days over the next few months.

The purchase was great. Friendly guys and I walked out with the car for $39k and included the trunk mat and some oil changes! Of course, I put down $15k to ease the blow a little!

Well, Im just excited, anxious, and cannot wait until Friday and I had to share it with someone...after all, i cant tell my wife or anybody that knows her!!

Yall have a great day!

Matt

Congrats on your purchase! Your wife will be blown away.

Heh, it's funny that you note your Camry is Japanese in your sig. I was selling Toyotas when the '02's came out. Some were built here and some in Japan. I could tell you which was which without looking at the VIN. I guess you noticed the difference, too.

Welcome to the family!

Frank

That should be a great gift.
Wow, you got a 4.6 w/tech for $39K? Did you have to haggle a lot with them for it?
I figured that due to lack of supply it would be a while before they would give any decent deals on the 4.6 w/tech.

WARNING! WARNING! Bunching gifts and giving them late can be hazardous to your marriage and your body-parts! Seriously, great purchase and welcome!

Yep! The Japanese Camry's had a little slot in the front bumper that will pop out. Not sure why...and also in the 05 range the fog light housing would pop out as well where most american camrys would not. Thanks!

Well...thats what i thought too. Come to find out...the salesmen do not work off comission and he is a non-negotiating dealership. He prices his cars to sell. That way most folks dont have the bad experience that some do when it comes to negotiating. I did however bargain on the trunk mat and the gas!! I like doing business that way. I know exactly what the dealership is making off the deal knowing that it will be paying the employees their hourly pay and covering some overhead. To me...that is as honest as you could get! I also got the 3.9% financing as well.

Thanks for the welcome!!

HA!!! :D In more ways than one!!! Thanks for the welcome!!

What color did you get it? I have and love my Blck/Saddel with the Tech. pckg. Also installed the Wign emblem on the trunk and the Winged hubcaps, plust tints and the White LED lights for the license plate.

I KNOW your wife is going to love this car! Congrats on her graduation I wish her great success!

Welcome aboard, Matt! Thank you for signing up. And congratulations on your new Hyundai Genesis! Great gift! When you find the time, post pictures. Don't worry - Friday will get here. :p

Thanks everybody! I just ordered the WING emblem from ebay for the trunk!

Mine is going to be Silver/Black.

POOPSICLE...HA! Funny you say that! Ill send you a picture I took just the other day while driving to work. Some guy who drives a big Ford Deisel Truck had a huge tailgate sticker that said "Sorry Im driving so slow...I cant afford the gas in this thing...PLEASE PASS!" Funny thing was, he was doing 45 in a 70! It wont be too long until his truck is at the repair shop after being rear-ended on the interstate!

Well, my next ride will be the Tundra once the Ford Explorer Sport poops out...and that shouldnt be much longer. Already had a transmission and a head gasket. It has 52K miles on it. I think my in-laws bought my wife a LEMON!!! Oh well!

I called the dealership yesterday and they say it should be here on Friday...Im not getting my hopes up just yet...it could be another week...according to some post in the forum.

Congrats on the purchase. I'd really like to know what dealership you used! I just (finally!) test drove the V8 yesterday and saw that the invoice prices (coming from the Hyundai system when we were trying to search for the particular color combination I want) were $34,521 (base) + $3,640 (Tech Package) + $750 destination charge. If those are accurate (can anyone verify?), that doesn't leave much room for any profit.

And I'll drive the 5-7 hours to get that price! :)
