  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just bought a 09 genesis with 25000 miles on it, the issues I have found are minor I hope. The navigation will not find a gps signal it's stuck in MI, the steering wheel will not move in and out? Just a few concerns that I have of today might find more later on since I didn't get to play with it much yesterday.

Thanks in advance

P.S Hello to all the genesis owners i sure hope i didn't make a mistake on this buy.:)

There is a old type of switch in the steering column that will be replaced by the dealer to a newer type of module. The steering on my 2009 wouldn't tilt.
You may also want to see if your car has the latest update for the navigation

Have some KY jelly handy when you ask about that Navi update.

nav update will be in the 150 neighborhood.

every TSB ever posted should be applied by a dealer at no cost (if you're only at 25k miles). the steering column issue has regularly shown its head in here - and is easily fixed.

if you bought used from a dealer, go back and demand that TSBs be applied.

you didn't make a mistake.....the gps i'm not sure about....but the steering wheel not moving is most likely the switch inside....my steering wheel would not move at all....they replaced the switch and it's fine ever since...
